GutterCare ll Installation Procedure
• Start by installing the GutterCare at the downspout. Cut out a small half circle directly above the downspout opening for additional drainage. Never leave a section shorter than 2 ft. near the downspout or any section less than 2 feet in length.
• A typical install of the GutterCare ll with Xtremecap is over the spikes, nails or hangers and will involve minor cutting with an electric knife. When cutting, simply cut the foam under and up to the ‘XtremeCap’. In some cases where the straps are high the GutterCare can be installed under the strap. When cutting the GutterCare to go over a low strap, cut through the back of the ‘XtremeCap’ and tuck the cut edge under and around the strap.
• Insert GutterCare ll Xtremecap into the back of the gutter and under the roof edge first. Then, insert the lip into the nose of the gutter while making sure it’s placed firmly against the rear of the gutter and lays flat over the hangers. Insure that the front of the GutterCare Xtremecap is fully inserted into the nose of the gutter by gently working back and forth. As the foam relaxes it will firmly embed itself into the nose of the gutter.
• Since not all gutters are installed in the same fashion and if you feel like you are needing to compress the GutterCare to install it into the gutter, STOP! GutterCare can be modified onsite to fit any 5K or 6K gutter. By using the electric knife, cut off excess foam from the back or bottom as needed until the GutterCare can be inserted without STUFFING THE GUTTER. Stuffing GutterCare into the gutter will restrict drainage of water.
• Installing around gutter corners is as easy as cutting a 45 degree angle. It is important that when cutting the corners, you insure the GutterCare Xtremecap remains snug.
